There is always an argument between fossil fuels and renewable energy. These two energies are common nowadays. In my opinion, I agree with the statement that renewable energy is irreplaceable. Fossil fuels are useful but also bring a lot of pollution to human and environment which the earth will get worse if we use fossil fuels at world’s main energy continuously.      Firstly, fossils fuels are one of the widely used energy in industries. Its characteristics are can’t be reused but it is cheaper and more supply than other energies. It provides energy through burning. And a lot of toxic gases released during burning such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide etc. that are harmful to both human and environment. It is not only affecting the atmosphere, it also pollutes the river, soil, and organisms. It does bring many harms to us when compared to the renewable energy. This is a reason why fossil fuels will never replace renewable energy.     Second...
Social science and physics are the most difficult subject for me. I have no concept of social science and I was panic when doing the essay. I did much research online and try to find out what is social scientists and what are they doing. Finally, I finished my essay although I don’t know is it correct or not. The second difficulty that I’m facing is physics. I didn’t learn physics before but the teachers assume we learned. It’s hard to start a science subject from the beginning by myself, so I asked and got the helping hand from my friends. I’m glad that my friends are willing to teach me. 😊
The most effective way to encourage people in my country to live healthier lives is to promote a healthy lifestyle. The information can announce through TV, radio broadcast or internet. People should do aerobic exercises at least twice a week and government can set a week for the sports that open the sports grounds for one week that attract more citizens to do exercises. Also, most of the people in Hong Kong need to work long hours and sleep very late at night. It is very unhealthy and we should stop this vicious cycle. The government should set up the law to guarantee the employees have healthy and reasonable working hours. If people have a suitable working hour, they can arrange their time to do more exercises. Last but not least, educate the younger generation to raise the awareness of healthy is the most important which they can start their healthy lifestyles earlier.
I think the most difficult part in my daily life is well time management. In U.K., I need to take care of myself, cook for my own meal and wash my clothes whereas I got help from my parents in Hong Kong. My life in first two weeks here was messy, settled down the stuffs, adapting to new environment or other things just used up all my time that makes me really disappointed and tired. I tried to list out all the things I need to do and prioritize the more emergent and important tasks. Use less time on cooking, entertainment etc. that the study time will increase a lot. And now, I can control back my time. I can keep cooking and bath within two hours and rest of the time (about two to four hours) can be my studying time or chatting with my family and friends.
In Hong Kong, we have a lot of important festivals. So, I would like to talk about Lunar New Year. We’ll eat festival food with our family, receive red pockets, post some lucky messages on the wall in our home. The festival and its traditions remain the same, but their format is a bit changed. For example, having dinner and festival food with family is the meaning of unity and emphasize the importance of family in traditional thought in Hong Kong. However, the dinner seems to be a fixed activity during festival only. Also, elders give red pockets to youngers is an action to show their blessing on children. The development of internet causes the red pockets can give out through online payment. Is that meaningful? I don’t think so. Last but not least, lucky messages are originally written by hands in the past whereas there are printed version nowadays.
This is my first time that visit and stay in Liverpool. I can remember some of the buildings in University of Liverpool in these two weeks because I need to find out where I need to go before lesson and some activities hold by school can encourage me to walk around such as welcome fair. Also, I went to the city centre with my friends and discovered what’s new. The streets in city centre is much more crowd which is different from the streets that where I live. I’m now enjoying my life in Liverpool although it’s quite horrible when you walk alone at night.
Hello! My name is Enya. I’m now 17-year-old and I come from Hong Kong. I have been studying English for almost 14 years. I don’t have any fixed activities in my spare time, but mostly, I would like to draw pictures, doing sports and watching cartoons. Moreover, listening to music and playing piano is what I would like to do in my free time. For a human being, food is the most important element in our life and it also becomes my most favourite part. I enjoy eating and finding new street food in Hong Kong. Mini egg puff and waffles are two of my most favourite street food which can also represent Hong Kong street food. Furthermore, my ambition is I can be a good occupational therapist that respect everyone and do my best on my duties. And now what I can do is to work hard in this year in LIC. Fighting!
